In today’s pre-mkt summary for Subscribers: Stocks plunged pre-mkt, as the standoff between the US and Europe over control of Greenland showed no sign of abating, while heavy selling in Japanese debt roiled global bond markets everywhere. Earnings season shifts into high gear over the next two weeks, with 40-45% of S&P 500 companies reporting earnings over the next two weeks. Adding to volatility is the upcoming Fed meeting Jan 27-28, as well as President’s Trump’s nominee for Fed Chair when Powell’s term ends in May.
