Rumor: Apple may start ordering entry-level M-series chips from Intel Foundry as it reduces the risk of only using TSMC, as Qualcomm has already done with Samsung, media report. China maintains a threat to invade Taiwan, where most of TSMC’s fabs are, and TSMC’s current US fabs focus on AI-related chips, not high-volume consumer chips ala Apple, Qualcomm. Price is another factor, as high TSMC 2nm prices push some to use lower-cost foundries for less critical chips. Apple and Qualcomm are reportedly in the trial phase with their new foundry partners. $Intel(INTC.US) $Apple(AAPL.US) $Qualcomm(QCOM.US) $SSNLF $Taiwan Semiconductor(TSM.US) #Samsung #Semiconductors
