Day 11 - My Investment Diary

Operations: waiting for the US market opening

Insights: the current position of $Invesco QQQ Trust(QQQ.US) price is a bearish technical development that warrants caution, but history shows $Invesco QQQ Trust(QQQ.US) has repeatedly recovered from such breaches thanks to its growth-oriented composition. Key levels to watch next include a potential retest of the 200-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) from below or further downside support zones.

Notable Historical Episodes

2022 bear market: $Invesco QQQ Trust(QQQ.US) spent an extended stretch below its 200-day SMA amid rising rates and recession fears, ultimately declining ~33% peak-to-trough for the year. The SMA itself flattened and then declined before the eventual recovery.

2020 COVID crash and other corrections (2018, 2019, 2025 pullback): Brief breaches occurred, but the ETF quickly reclaimed the level and resumed its uptrend as tech growth resumed.

Long-term trajectory of the SMA itself: It has risen steadily from the 150–200 area in 2016 to the current price, mirroring its compound growth. In strong bull markets (e.g., post-2020 and 2023–2025), the price has often stayed well above a steadily rising 200-day SMA for years at a time.
