Key important matter to take note this week: Fed meeting minutes this Wednesday before Jackson Hole Economic Policy symposium,27-29 August.
Kevin Warsh will be addressing the symposium as the Chair of the Federal Reserve for his first time. His speech will be closely scrutinised for clues on the rate outlook.
Another crucial event will be the sale of 20-year government bonds this week. It will test investor appetite for long-term debt following a few record-breaking auctions.
(The recent US Treasury were sold at $25 billion, 30-year bonds at a yield of 5.216%. )
