China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology together with six partner agencies has officially released the 15th Five-Year Battery Industry Plan covering 2026 to 2030.

Setting a benchmark of 15,000 charge-discharge cycles while driving manufacturing quality down to parts-per-billion defect rates

• 🛡️ Resilient Supply Chains

Expanding cold-resistant sodium batteries, securing domestic lithium and cobalt resources and encouraging industry consolidation

• ♻️ Full Lifecycle Tracking

Building nationwide battery collection networks and introducing digital passports to monitor each battery’s carbon footprint

• 🚗 Powering the NEV Transition

Directly supporting China’s goal for 70% of new passenger car sales to be new energy vehicles by 2030 .
