Repost: Feels like Meta's advertising capabilities are several levels above Tencent's.
First, it's simple with automated direct placement: fewer steps, easy operation, direct advertiser placement, and more advertisers are choosing to pay Meta for automatic placement.
Second, Meta holds significant control—the automatic placement process is a black box for advertisers, who can only pay and see the results. Data, tools, ecosystems, and methodologies are all under Meta's control, continuously researched and refined, with AI now becoming a major assistant. (Now, each user is characterized by over 100,000 dimensions, CTR has increased 10-fold in 10 years, and advertising efficiency has significantly improved.)
In contrast, Tencent seems more like just placing Moments ads here and telling advertisers to figure it out themselves, burying the value of user data ecosystems in the dust. How can ROI be high like this?
