$XIAOMI-W(01810.HK)To be honest, if I were to switch from a fuel car to an electric car, I would definitely choose one with more technological accumulation, like Tesla.
Driving boils down to three things: first is safety, second is driving pleasure, and third is comfort (interior) and appearance.
Tesla has 20 years of technological accumulation. Intuitively speaking, Elon Musk has even mastered rockets, so the safety and other aspects of his cars are also quite good.
Right after graduation, I worked at $WULING MOTORS(00305.HK), tightening screws and handling welding guns. Honestly, every part met quality checks at each stage,
but, but, without strict standards and rigorous control processes, the operational errors varied from worker to worker (and their skills were vastly different). When all the parts came together, the problems became huge (not even counting material issues).
There’s also the unique culture—suppliers treat you to good food and drinks, while customers treat you like dirt. All this inevitably affects the final quality of the car (even though Wuling is a budget brand).
If Tesla could iterate faster, improve the interior, and introduce full self-driving, sales would absolutely skyrocket.
Another thing is fairness: Tesla sells for higher prices in the US and Europe than in China, but the quality is the same standard. Other mid-to-high-end cars do the opposite—they’re way more expensive in China.
