Reuters report:
- A source said Tesla CEO Elon Musk sought to meet senior Chinese officials in Beijing to discuss launching FSD software in China and obtain approval to transfer data collected in China overseas for FSD algorithm training.
- Since 2021, Tesla has stored all data collected by its China fleet in Shanghai as required by Chinese regulators, with no data transferred to the US.
- Elon Musk's China trip wasn't made public, and Tesla declined to comment.
