According to media reports, TSMC's 2nm wafer fabs will be located in two locations in Taiwan: Hsinchu (Baoshan) and Kaohsiung. The equipment installation for the first 2nm wafer fab in Baoshan began in April, and it was noted that this will be a GigaFab 4 wafer fab constructed in 4 phases. It is designated as Fab20, with the first phase named: Fab20 P1. Three 2nm wafer fabs will be built in Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan. The handover of land for wafer fab construction in Taichung, central Taiwan, has been postponed to the end of 2024, starting from August. Previously, TSMC told officials that it did not immediately need the land.
