Tesla has explicitly warned against using dangerous methods such as placing wet towels around the supercharger interface to speed up the charging process. Some claim this can increase the charging rate, for example, from 58kW to 119kW in tests, but this is not safe❌! Thermal management is a crucial part of fast charging. High-voltage currents transmitted through thin cables generate a lot of heat. Wet towels not only do little to dissipate heat but can also interfere with temperature monitors, posing risks of overheating or damage.
