
I'm also new to options. I bought a 30-day option and found it a bit expensive. The closer the expiration date, the cheaper the option.
Options trading experience
Since last week I started learning about options, I checked out the options beginner course on Longbridge Academy, briefly understood what call and put are, and jumped right in - practice makes perfect. In the past two weeks I traded Tesla's call and Nvidia's call/put, only made small profit on Tesla's call expiring next week, with a total small loss of $80 plus high commission fees 😅, but at least gained some personal experience. Since I only invest small amounts in options trading, I always buy out-of-the-money options with low prices expiring this week. Buying far out-of-the-money options made me discover several issues...
