Stellantis has recently faced continuous setbacks and announced an important recall plan involving 21,096 units of the 2024 Dodge Hornet PHEV and 2024-2025 Alfa Romeo Tonale PHEV sold in the U.S. The main reason for the recall is a potential risk of brake pedal fracture, which may cause pedal failure during emergency braking, increasing the risk of traffic accidents.
To ensure consumer safety, Stellantis recommends that owners contact authorized dealers as soon as possible for free inspection and reinforcement. The specific measure involves installing additional fixings on the brake pedal arm. Additionally, the company reminds drivers that they can use the electronic parking brake as a backup solution in emergencies. So far, 15 related failure cases have been reported globally, but fortunately, only one minor accident occurred without any injuries.
