It is indeed a bit inappropriate to dress like this, the child must have been scared
Renowned American designer Rick Owens was reportedly asked to leave the Forbidden City by security personnel due to clothing issues while visiting with his wife and friends, sparking rapid controversy. Friends accompanying him expressed dissatisfaction on social media, claiming they were asked to remove makeup and change into normal clothing, viewing the request as humiliating and inhumane. The Forbidden City's visitor guidelines clearly state, "Please dress neatly. Avoid behavior that is unsightly or damages the image," and "Those with inappropriate attire will be denied entry." On October 18, staff from the Palace Museum responded that they were verifying the incident, while also noting that the Forbidden City's dress code for visitors is not particularly strict, "as long as it's not too exaggerated." The truth of the matter still awaits further confirmation.
Is the Forbidden City's request to leave reasonable?
