Traded ValueDocumenting another operation where I could have made big money but ended up failing
1. I had Dingdong Maicai (DDL) in my hand, and I thought the pre-market was quite stable. It shouldn't be affected by Pinduoduo (PDD). Actually, I was watching it. I thought if it was affected pre-market, I would sell immediately. Unexpectedly, Dingdong Maicai (DDL) opened like a ghost, causing me to cut losses. Because I was operating on my phone, by the time I switched to buy something else, I had already missed the first buying point. (This was the first mistake, the wrong direction in the broader trend of Chinese concept stocks) PS: I didn't sell GameStop (GME) well.
2. Considering the need to align knowledge with action, I chose between nuclear power and rockets, prioritizing rockets. My idea was DXYZ, which had negative news but could swing sharply. Today's rebound was fast, so I got on board quickly. Unexpectedly, the fast movement didn't last—there was a reason for that. I cut losses during the drop. Actually, I also wanted to trade RKLB but didn't in the end. (This was the second mistake, the wrong choice of stock.)
3. After these two mistakes, I saw nuclear power had already risen 10%, so I didn't want to chase it. In fact, if I had chased it, I could have made a 20% profit by the close. Similarly, OKLO and SMR also rallied. I mentioned the "rising tide lifts all boats" phenomenon, and both domestic and international markets are focusing on nuclear power. The endgame of AI is nuclear power, so I didn't correct my mistake immediately. (This was the third mistake.) After two failed operations, it's hard for people to correct mistakes immediately; instead, they tend to lie flat. On that basis, I thought about it and decided I couldn't stay like this, so I quickly made the following trades:
4. Immediately bought SOFI (I mentioned the "naked lending big three"—UPST/SOFI/AFRM) to compensate for the first three failed trades.
5. Locked in$Zillow-C(Z.US)—nothing much to say here. It broke through the high, so I remain bullish. (The canceled order for ALAB the day before caused me to miss out on a lot of profits.)
6. Chased SHOP and SE at high prices (another case of selling low and buying high). However, SE broke through the high, so I remain bullish. I'm still optimistic about SHOP, but these two compensatory trades didn't bring any profits.
7. There was another stock I observed and shared separately with a friend. It closed up 9%, but due to the above failed operations, I didn't buy it myself!
