Donald Trump announced a 100% tariff increase on Chinese products starting November 1st and imposed export controls on "all critical software."
"We have just learned that China has taken an extremely aggressive stance on trade issues, sending a highly hostile letter to the world, claiming that they will impose large-scale export controls on almost all products they produce—even including some not manufactured by them—starting November 1, 2025. This move will affect all countries without exception, and it is clearly a plan they have been plotting for years. This is absolutely unheard of in international trade and is a moral disgrace in dealings with other countries.Given China's unprecedented stance, I hereby announce, on behalf of the United States of America—and not other equally threatened nations—that starting November 1, 2025 (or earlier, depending on any further actions or changes by China), the United States will impose an additional 100% tariff on top of any tariffs China currently pays. Also on November 1, we will implement export controls on all critical software. It is simply unbelievable that China would take such action, but they did, and the rest is history."The copyright of this article belongs to the original author/organization.
