US President Trump signed an executive order on space dominance.

The original announcement is as follows:

Through the "Artemis Program," return Americans to the Moon by 2028 to demonstrate US leadership in space, lay the foundation for lunar economic development, prepare for Mars exploration, and inspire a new generation of American explorers.

Establish the initial facilities of a permanent lunar outpost by 2030 to ensure the US's sustained presence in space and create conditions for subsequent steps in Mars exploration.

Improve the sustainability and cost-effectiveness of launch and exploration architectures, including supporting commercial launch services and prioritizing lunar exploration.

Promote economic growth, attracting at least $50 billion in new investment into the US space market by 2028, and increase the frequency of launches and re-entries through new facilities, upgrades, efficiency improvements, and policy reforms.

Advance near-term applications of space nuclear power, deploying nuclear reactors on the Moon and in orbit, including preparing a launch-ready lunar surface reactor by 2030.
