🚨🤖Musk Makes Bold Statement Again: Optimus 3 to Be Released in a Few Months, Annual Production of 1 Million Units No Longer a Fantasy
Elon Musk stated that Optimus 3 might be released in a few months.
In his view, the performance of this generation of products will be "exceptional," and due to the adoption of a new supply chain system, its mass production ramp-up will differ from the steep but slow S-curve of traditional manufacturing.
The implications of this statement are actually quite significant.
In the context of manufacturing, "S-curve slowdown" is not a bad thing.
It often means:
Heavier and more systematic upfront preparation, but once the tipping point is crossed, scaling will become smoother.
Musk further made a highly impactful judgment:
He is confident that the Fremont factory's Optimus production capacity can reach 1 million units annually.
Note, this is an assessment of the annual capacity of a "single factory,"
not the global total under some distant vision.
If this assessment holds, the discussion level of Optimus will be completely transformed:
No longer "whether robots can be used,"
but "whether robots have entered an industrialization track similar to that of automobiles."
More important is the long-term perspective he provided.
Musk clearly pointed out that, in the long run, Optimus will have a very significant impact on U.S. GDP.
This is not about a new product line but hints at a possible outcome:
When general-purpose humanoid robots reach a scale of millions,
they will affect labor efficiency, production functions, and the economic structure itself.
This is also why the core variable of Optimus is no longer some flashy stunt,
but three things:
Whether the supply chain is functional,
Whether the production line is replicable,
Whether costs can continue to decline.
Once these three points are simultaneously true,
Optimus will no longer be "a Tesla project,"
but a new variable that could be written into macro narratives.
The question is:
Do you prefer to take this statement as Musk’s usual aggressive long-term outlook,
or see it as a signal that Optimus is approaching the tipping point of mass production?
📬I will continue to track $Tesla(TSLA.US)’s key milestones in Optimus, robot mass production, and the path to embodied AI, dissecting which are engineering signals and which are structural changes.
