The mining stocks are really going all out this time, with FCX, NEM, PAAS, and CCJ all soaring. It's been a long time since we've seen such a synchronized surge in major commodities.
Copper and gold are taking turns hitting new highs, and even the usually steady uranium is starting to get restless. I can hardly make sense of my own portfolio anymore. Last week, I was still debating whether this was the peak for the sector, and in the blink of an eye, I missed the biggest single-day gain. All I can say is, with themes and earnings exceeding expectations, market capital can be this ruthless. Now, I'm a bit hesitant to chase, afraid of getting 'cut' as soon as I step in. The mining faithful are all ecstatic today—hope everyone can hold onto their positions.
