Looking at these semiconductor stocks today—AMAT, KLAC, STM, SLAB, AMKR—it's been an emotional rollercoaster. KLAC's last quarter performance was okay, but the market gave it a big slap in the face. Indeed, US stock logic can be even more mysterious than performance sometimes. STM is getting weaker and weaker; I should have cut my losses earlier, it would have been so much easier. SLAB was directly taken out by Texas Instruments; those who didn't buy can only watch the show. In short, semiconductors are still the old main theme of the king's return, but you need to stay steady in the short term. Recent volatility is high, don't fight the sector too hard.
