Beijing, February 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- On the evening of February 5, 2026, Myanmar's Ambassador to China, H.E U Zaw Win Myint, attended the New Year's reception hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. The reception brought together approximately 500 representatives from foreign diplomatic missions in China, international organizations, and Chinese government departments, serving as an important platform for friendly exchanges and discussions on cooperation between Chinese and foreign diplomats. It demonstrated China's proactive stance in promoting friendly exchanges with other countries and deepening practical international cooperation.
At the reception, Chinese and foreign guests gathered together for cordial exchanges, jointly welcoming the New Year, discussing friendship, and exploring cooperation. The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in China and Ambassador of Cameroon to China, H.E. Mr. Martin Ampana, on behalf of all foreign diplomatic missions, extended sincere New Year greetings to the Chinese side. On the morning of February 6, Ambassador U Zaw Win Myint visited the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA). The two sides conducted in-depth and candid exchanges and consultations on topics including the progress of existing cooperation projects between China and Myanmar, and China's support measures for Myanmar's post-earthquake recovery and reconstruction. The Chinese side explicitly stated its willingness to continue strengthening coordination and deepening practical cooperation with Myanmar in areas such as development plan alignment and disaster emergency response, jointly promoting the steady and enduring progress of China-Myanmar bilateral relations.
Furthermore, Ambassador U Zaw Win Myint also visited China Construction International Construction Co., Ltd. for an exchange. In Beijing, he met with Chen Lie, General Manager of China Construction International, Zhao Shuqiang, Chairman of the Trade Union, Peng Shihong, Deputy General Manager, and Meng Meng, Deputy General Manager of the Marketing Department. They exchanged views on matters related to China Construction International's business layout in Myanmar and China-Myanmar infrastructure construction cooperation, laying the groundwork for subsequent deepening of practical cooperation between the two sides.
