When we rebalance our portfolios or need to withdraw cash from investment accounts, a very common thought is to sell profitable stocks and continue holding loss-making ones.

However, this behavior is often one-sided. Trading stocks is about trading future expectations. When you sell a stock, it means you are no longer optimistic about the company's future growth prospects. If a company's fundamentals haven't changed, and its profits and revenues are continuously improving, what reason is there for it to become a "sacrifice" under our short-term choices? 🤔

Perhaps this is why people are constantly commenting "sold too early" in the comment sections of some highly certain investment targets. If you can't change your mindset, you'll continue to sell too early next time.
