VOO, SPXL, IWM, TNA all turned green today, especially the leveraged ones SPXL and TNA were just crushed... At the beginning of the year, I thought small-cap stocks would catch up, but this wave of consecutive declines has left even those fully invested feeling numb. Even trading broad-based ETFs can be a lesson. How come the promised U.S. bull market suddenly started punishing the greedy? Every time the NAV turns red and I want to add to my position, a wave of green directly halves my conviction. It's really "spreading the bets when it rises, getting harvested when it falls." This year, I'll do less trading and drink more hot water.
