The Fed released hawkish-leaning meeting minutes early this morning, for the first time mentioning the possibility of a rate hike.
The minutes show the Fed believes employment risks have eased, but inflation risks still exist.
They indicated that if inflation declines as expected, further rate cuts are appropriate, but if inflation remains above the Fed's 2% target, a rate hike may be a suitable choice.
Finally, all voting members agreed on a monetary policy without a fixed path, instead making decisions based on the latest data.
Well, after the minutes were released, market predictions for the Fed cutting rates three times in '26 have fallen below 30%.
