Two important reminders. First, the US will release its December core PCE price index at 9:30 PM tonight. This is a more comprehensive inflation measure than CPI and the one the Fed values most. The latest market forecast is 2.9%, which isn't very optimistic. If it comes in below expectations like last week, or even below 2.5%, that would be a major positive.
Second, today is the US Supreme Court's opinion release day. Let's see if they will rule on Donald Trump's tariff case tonight. This is key to whether Trump's tariffs can continue. Just this morning, Trump also complained that they were too slow to make a ruling.
