XIAOMI Diamond Holder$Invesco QQQ Trust(QQQ.US) suddenly felt a bit like a 'border-crosser' today. I originally opened a Hong Kong bank account just to buy Xiaomi $XIAOMI-W(01810.HK). I opened the account around May '25, and by October '25, I had already made nearly 40 points in profit, riding the bull market's tailwind. In Q4, Xiaomi kept plummeting, and now that six or seven thousand in profit has turned into a -30k loss. During that time, I also bought $Strategy(MSTR.US) at its National Day peak and didn't sell until I lost about 5K. Then there were the 0DTE options 😂. The $Tesla(TSLA.US) options were my first time buying. I knew nothing back then. I made $100 on the first day, another $100 on the second day, and I was over the moon—making money was so easy! Then on the third day, I lost $700 and couldn't sleep all night. A newborn calf isn't afraid of tigers; I was just messing around. After taking a week off, I felt indignant and started doing 0DTE every day, aiming for $20 profit and running as soon as I got it. Honestly, this method worked like a charm, including with QQQ's 0DTE. In November, I made about $300 this way (but in December, I was basically wrong on the direction every day, either sideways or losing it all, ending up -$100). Now, my US stock losses are probably around 10k. I feel a big part of the loss is my commissions. I roughly calculated before, and commissions alone were around 6k. Actually, my thinking is quite similar to that of border-crossers: I thought a change of environment would make a difference, but in the end, it's all a liquidation line. Thinking about it now feels a bit ridiculous. The key factor in living a good life is one's own ability, not the environment. No matter which market you're in, those who know how to make money will make money; it's just that the speed might differ in different markets! The fifth day of the Lunar New Year, welcoming the God of Wealth! Wishing everyone prosperity and hoping I can break even, hahaha.
