Anthropic claims that Chinese AI company "Distill" Claude is improving its own model
Anthropic announced on Monday that three Chinese AI companies, DeepSeek, Moonshot, and MiniMax, improperly accessed capabilities of Claude, resulting in over 16 million interactions, violating the terms of service. The company pointed out that they used "distillation" technology to improve their own models and proposed reasons for implementing export controls on chips, believing that restricting access to chips could reduce the scope of improper distillation
