I've noticed a phenomenon: once a person starts on an upward trajectory, they gradually become indifferent and less inclined to visit relatives; if someone is overly concerned with saving face, always trying to be a people-pleaser and afraid of offending anyone, they actually end up doing worse.

Those who are more focused on self-improvement gradually become less enthusiastic about socializing, and may even appear somewhat aloof.

On the contrary, those people-pleasers who try to please everyone, fear offending others, and place extreme importance on face, often find their careers stagnating and their relationships increasingly exhausting. This isn't about becoming cold, but rather a re-prioritization happening within.
