Energy stocks are indeed still the old reliable workhorses. COP and CVX posted small gains again today, stable as ever. The oil and gas sector just refuses to go bearish during this period. It feels like a lot of people who are short or on the sidelines are getting anxious about missing out. Even someone like me, holding a half position, is hesitant and doesn't dare to add more, only able to watch it slowly grind higher... Right now, it's just one thing: oil prices have support, the big players are also protecting it, and it can't be smashed down in the short term. Feels a bit like watching a show.
