My 48-year-old colleague got divorced yesterday.

It was her second marriage. She had been with her current husband for over a decade, and each brought a child from a previous relationship. The husband owned a house before the marriage, which had been rented out.

Recently, her son was getting married and needed a lot of money for the down payment on a house. Her income isn't high, so she wanted her husband to sell the rental property to help her son.

Unexpectedly, the husband flatly refused, saying the house was for his own child. At most, he was only willing to give 100,000 yuan to her son.

My colleague was instantly heartbroken. She said, "After more than ten years together, you still treat my son as an outsider."

She brought up divorce, thinking he would try to stop her. Instead, the husband just said, "If that's how you feel, then let's get divorced."

Over a decade of marriage, gone just like that, and in the end, it was only worth that 100,000 yuan.

What do you all think? Who is really at fault here?
