After the American Civil War, there has been no further division. This is because, fundamentally, the US does not have a "Chinese-style ethnic/frontier structure," so it doesn't see independence movements on the scale of Xinjiang, Tibet, or Taiwan.
God really gave the US a favorable international, domestic, and natural resource environment. This is an advantage that's very hard for us to catch up to—one we might never match.
