#ConfessionTime Let's talk about something unrelated to stocks (anyway you don't know who I am haha)

A lot of things I don't dare to post on my social media feed, I'll just say them here as a confession 🕳️🙈

I really dislike my dad's way of doing things and his personality. As a son, is this unfilial or just unfortunate? We have different values, the kind where you can't even have a half-sentence conversation without clashing.

This time my dad's lumbar disc herniation relapsed. We found the best hospital (the head of the national key department of spinal surgery) to do a UBE, a very common minimally invasive surgery. After it was done, he complains about everything... blames heaven and earth but never himself (retired and idle at home, but with bad habits like smoking, staying up late, not exercising, not listening to advice). After the surgery, I helped wipe him, change his pants and sheets, feed him water and food (Why not hire a caregiver? Not coming personally and hiring one is considered unfilial). When drinking water, he spat a little out himself and then scolded me for not being careful (no tracheotomy, no risk of infection. Two people in the family have been in the hospital this year, so I'm very knowledgeable about medical stuff now. The other one is recuperating at home after coming out of the ICU, thankfully). I told him to buy a medical-grade lumbar brace on JD. The doctor said 400, the one I bought was 200 (same function). He came to ask me if I didn't have enough money, he would pay (The sad thing is, he knows perfectly well I'm not short of this money. It's not about money at all, it's that I'm just a practical person). He nods and says thank you, thank you to the doctor, but has endless demands and not a single kind word for family. It's truly helpless 🤷‍♀️

I believe most children admire and love their parents. Leading by example is fundamental. As children grow up and develop their own worldview, they will discover the perspectives that suit them best. And the biggest negative example in their hearts is most likely a close relative. This is something that will be remembered and influence them for a lifetime. From my perspective, to say something unfilial, I don't want my children to be alone with my dad. I'm worried they'll learn the 'bad' stuff. Every time I think about this, I feel very sad inside.

Compared to all the things in real life, matters here in US stocks are really trivial. I'm not even scared of a 99% drop. The conviction was already prepared before I started buying. And if it drops, it drops. Close the app and it has no impact. But a living person next to you, you hide, he chases, haha 😊
