The logic behind Intel seems to be getting stronger and stronger.

Terafab project collaboration with Intel (latest update, April 2026):

Tesla (in partnership with SpaceX and xAI) plans to introduce Intel's Intel 14A advanced logic process technology (next-generation process, equivalent to approximately 1.4nm level) for the first time at the Terafab super chip factory planned in Austin, Texas.

Musk clearly stated during the 2026 Q1 earnings call: Although Intel 14A is not yet fully finalized, it will be mature by the time Terafab goes into production. Tesla plans to use this process to produce AI chips.

Intel not only provides process technology licensing (including 18A/14A processes) but also participates in the factory's actual manufacturing, packaging, and operational guidance. Some analysts believe that Terafab is essentially an expansion project led by Intel Foundry, with Tesla primarily responsible for funding and chip design rather than building a complete wafer fab. The goal is to achieve 1 terawatt (TW) level of computing power annually to support autonomous driving, humanoid robots (Optimus), and data center needs.

Intel 逻辑重构:被大众错杀的 “主权 AI” 唯一底牌

Saw a Weibo post that was very enlightening, and realized that my perspective on Intel needs to be re-examined. So I discussed the post's viewpoint with AI. (Last night, I already bought a small amount of stock and one call option. Recently, Intel has been widely mocked, but if we only focus on short-term financial reports and stock price fluctuations, we might miss the most hardcore geopolitical logic for U.S. stocks in the next decade: Semiconductor Sovereignty. 1. The shift of the moat: from "commercial leadership" to "sovereign security" The public mocks Intel for its lagging technology...
