🇺🇸 The U.S. government has partially lifted restrictions on Anthropic's powerful Mythos 5 AI model.
This comes two weeks after Washington forced Anthropic to suspend Mythos 5 access due to national security concerns.
According to a letter seen by Reuters, the U.S. government has now granted a small group of "trusted partners" access to Anthropic's powerful Mythos 5 AI model.
The approved group reportedly includes over 100 businesses and federal agencies, which can now use this advanced AI system.
It is reported that Anthropic worked closely with the Trump administration to implement additional safeguards, allowing the model to be distributed to vetted U.S. companies and approved foreign nationals without an export license.
The letter did not mention any changes to usage restrictions for the Fable 5 model.
This comes just one day after news broke that the Trump administration asked OpenAI to limit the initial release of GPT-5.6 to a handful of government-approved partners.
