SpaceX OptionBreaking: Volkswagen has fallen 72% over the past 5 years.
The stock currently has a P/E ratio of 6.09 and a market cap of about $43 billion, despite annual revenue nearing $366 billion.
Volkswagen has just completely stopped production of the all-electric ID.4 model at its Tennessee plant, shifting capacity to gasoline and hybrid models instead.
Group deliveries in Q1 2026 fell 4% year-on-year. Audi deliveries in the same quarter fell 6.1%. Porsche deliveries declined further, hit by a double whammy of weak demand in both the Chinese and US markets.
US tariffs alone cost Volkswagen €2.9 billion in 2025. North American deliveries that same year fell by over 10%.
For such a massive company to lose momentum in its two largest markets simultaneously is a real structural issue.
