Powell stated that further rate hikes may be necessary and that he has not considered or discussed rate cuts; however, the market interpreted this as neutral to dovish. The latest market expectation for a rate hike in December is 19%, with a complete rate cut expected by June next year. Dolphin Research interprets that the surge in long-term bond yields will lead to an increase in long-term capital borrowing costs. Currently, core inflation, whether on a month-over-month annualized basis or year-over-year, is already below this level, making further rate hikes less meaningful.
