Straits Trading reports H1 loss of S$40.8 million

Straits Trading Company reported a net loss of S$40.8 million for H1 2025, down from a profit of S$5.2 million a year earlier. The loss was attributed to fair value losses from an associate company and remeasurement of exchangeable bonds. Revenue increased by 5.9% to S$267.5 million. The property segment reported a loss of S$13.2 million, while the resources segment earned S$8.4 million. The company anticipates challenges in the property sector due to external factors and plans to streamline its portfolio for new investment opportunities. Shares fell 1.9% to S$1.56 before the earnings release.
