PERFECT OPT expects to incur a comprehensive loss attributable to equity holders of approximately HKD 12 million to 14 million in the first half of 2025, turning from a comprehensive profit of HKD 2.25 million in the same period of 2024 to a loss. The loss is mainly due to an expected loss of approximately HKD 7.06 million from financial assets measured at fair value through profit or loss, compared to a fair value gain of approximately HKD 15.082 million in the same period of 2024. Although the operating loss from business operations has decreased, the fair value loss of financial assets has led to an overall performance turning to a loss
According to the Zhitong Finance APP, PERFECT OPT (08311) announced that it expects the group's financial performance to turn from profit to loss in the first half of 2025, with a comprehensive loss attributable to the company's equity holders of approximately HKD 12 million to HKD 14 million, compared to a comprehensive profit of approximately HKD 2.25 million for the equity holders in the first half of 2024.
The announcement stated that the turn from profit to loss is mainly due to the expected fair value loss of approximately HKD 7.06 million on financial assets measured at fair value through profit or loss during this period, compared to a fair value gain of approximately HKD 15.082 million in the same period of 2024. The financial assets measured at fair value through profit or loss by the group consist of several ordinary shares of Outbound Questions Limited listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (stock code: 2438), with their fair value estimated based on the market value of Outbound Questions' ordinary shares. Although the losses generated from the group's business operations during this period have decreased compared to the corresponding losses from the group's business operations in the same period of 2024, the expected fair value loss on the aforementioned financial assets measured at fair value through profit or loss is anticipated to result in a turn from profit to loss during this period
