The three major A-share indices of Shanghai and Shenzhen rose by 0.2%-0.5% in the first half of the day, with digital currency concept stocks surging

The People's Bank of China today (21st) conducted a 253 billion yuan (the same below) seven-day reverse repurchase operation in the open market, with the operation interest rate remaining at 1.4%. Today, 128.7 billion yuan of reverse repos matured, resulting in a net injection of 124.3 billion yuan. The central parity rate of the yuan against the US dollar was raised by 97 points to 7.1287.

The three major A-share indices rose steadily. The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,779 points at midday, up 13 points or 0.4%, with a turnover of 646.75 billion yuan; the Shenzhen Component Index closed at 11,980 points at midday, up 53 points or 0.5%, with a turnover of 920.6 billion yuan; the ChiNext Index closed at 2,613 points at midday, up 5 points or 0.2%, with a turnover of 415.1 billion yuan.

In the banking sector, China Construction Bank (601939.SH) rose by 0.4% while Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SH) fell by 0.1%. In addition, CATL (300750.SZ) closed flat. BYD (002594.SZ) fell by 0.2%. In the tech sector, Cambricon Technologies (688256.SH) rose by 3.9%, reaching a new high.

It is reported that the mainland is considering launching a yuan-pegged stablecoin, leading to a surge in digital currency concept stocks, with Kingteller (002177.SZ) and Topsec (002212.SZ) both hitting the daily limit. ZTE Corporation (000063.SZ) rose by 6.4%.

Rare earth stocks significantly retreated, with Jintian Copper (601609.SH) hitting the daily limit down. Shenghe Resources (600392.SH) and Longi Green Energy (300835.SZ) fell by 1.4% and 5.4%, respectively.

Photovoltaic stocks showed mixed performance, with Oujing Technology (001269.SZ) and Hengdian East Magnetic (002056.SZ) rising by 2.6% and 5.8%, respectively. Invt (002334.SZ) fell by 3.8%.

Kingsoft Office (688111.SH) rose by 1%, with a net profit of 747 million yuan in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 3.57%.

Hengrui Medicine (600276.SH) rose by 1.3%, with a net profit of 4.45 billion yuan in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 29.67%.
