Local enterprises sign cooperation agreements with Saudi aluminum profile manufacturers. Development Bureau: Will continue to promote MiC development
The Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) Liu Junjie recently attended a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement between a local enterprise and a Saudi Arabian aluminum profile manufacturer. The goal of this cooperation agreement is to jointly establish a large-scale aluminum processing industrial base in Saudi Arabia, featuring "Modular Integrated Construction" (MiC) production facilities capable of producing 30,000 residential modules annually.
The local enterprise's subsidiary is one of the first Hong Kong companies to receive certification under the MiC Manufacturer Recognition Scheme by the Hong Kong Construction Industry Council in June this year, and it is also the first manufacturer to bring Hong Kong's advanced MiC technology to the international market. The signing of the agreement demonstrates the effectiveness of the MiC Manufacturer Recognition Scheme promoted by the Development Bureau, enhancing market confidence in certified manufacturers.
In his speech at the ceremony, the Permanent Secretary stated that this cooperation marks a milestone for the development of "Modular Integrated Construction" in Hong Kong, allowing both parties to leverage their strengths for rapid collaborative development between the two regions. This cooperation not only showcases the strength of Hong Kong enterprises but also highlights Hong Kong's unique advantages of being backed by the motherland while connecting to the world under the "One Country, Two Systems" principle.
Looking ahead, the Development Bureau will continue to promote the development of MiC, actively develop innovative technologies, and strengthen collaboration among all parties. The authorities will also maintain close cooperation with the mainland to establish MiC as a landmark industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, aligning with the country's high-quality development. Hong Kong will continue to fully leverage its unique role as a "super connector" and "super value creator," connecting the region and the world to explore new opportunities for MiC
