BYD collaborates with Japan's AEON STORES (8267.JP) to sell cars and offers a points rebate discount
According to reports, BYD (01211.HK) is collaborating with Japan's AEON (8267.JP) to set up BYD sales outlets in approximately 30 commercial facilities and department stores in Japan. AEON will act as an intermediary and work with BYD's exclusive stores to showcase BYD vehicles in the sales areas. BYD aims to increase the number of exclusive stores in Japan to 100 by 2025, while AEON will establish sales outlets in commercial facilities near BYD exclusive stores.
The report indicates that AEON will set its own pricing and offer promotional activities such as point rewards. Buyers can earn AEON electronic currency "WAON" points, which can translate into discounts amounting to hundreds of thousands of yen. For example, the electric vehicle Dolphin, priced at 2.992 million yen, will cost around 2 million yen after subsidies and promotions.
In addition, AEON currently has about 2,500 charging stations set up in 374 stores, hoping that customers can charge their vehicles while shopping, generating additional revenue
