RUIFENG RENEW: RUIFENG Energy Storage Power Station Phase II successfully selected for the Hebei pilot project list
RUIFENG RENEW announced that its second-phase energy storage power station project has successfully been included in the pilot project list of Hebei Province. The project is invested and constructed by Hebei Ruifeng Yunlian Digital New Energy Co., Ltd., with a capacity of 200 megawatts/0.8 gigawatt-hours, located in the Chabei Management District of Zhangjiakou City, adjacent to the first-phase project. This project will utilize existing power grid infrastructure and aims to promote the large-scale development of new energy storage, enhancing the regulation capability of the power system
According to the Zhitong Finance APP, Ruifeng New Energy (00527) announced that its subsidiary Hebei Ruifeng Yunlian Digital New Energy Co., Ltd. (Ruifeng Yunlian) will invest in and construct the first phase of a grid-side independent energy storage station with a capacity of 300 megawatts/1.2 gigawatt-hours, which is set to begin construction in September 2024 and achieve full capacity grid connection on January 22, 2025. It has currently participated in medium- and long-term electricity trading and entered the market-oriented operation phase. The first phase of the Ruifeng energy storage station adopts lithium iron phosphate battery storage technology, configured with a four-hour long-duration energy storage system, significantly enhancing the peak shaving and valley filling, as well as emergency backup capabilities of the Jibei power grid. As the first grid-side independent energy storage station project connected to the grid in the Jibei power grid and currently the largest grid-side independent energy storage station project in North China in terms of market trading scale, the first phase of the Ruifeng energy storage station has achieved good economic benefits by participating in the Jibei electricity trading platform after officially commencing operations, providing solid support for the expansion and upgrade of the second phase project.
On October 21, 2025, the Hebei Provincial Development and Reform Commission officially issued the "List of Independent Energy Storage Pilot Projects with Diverse Technology Routes in Hebei Province," aimed at implementing the spirit of the national "Special Action Plan for Large-Scale Construction of New-Type Energy Storage (2025–2027)" and accelerating the diversified and large-scale development of new-type energy storage, effectively enhancing the regulation capability of the power system. Among the pilot project list announced this time, the 200 megawatts/0.8 gigawatt-hours grid-type hybrid energy storage station project (second phase of the Ruifeng energy storage station) in the Chabei Management District successfully made the list.
The second phase of the Ruifeng energy storage station is planned to be built in the surrounding area of the Wulan Management Office in the Chabei Management District of Zhangjiakou City, adjacent to the northern side of the site where the first phase project has been completed. This site selection fully utilizes the existing power grid infrastructure, with the State Grid Jiefang 500 kV substation, the 220 kV booster station built by the first phase of the Ruifeng energy storage station, and dedicated transmission lines nearby, providing convenient conditions for project connection
