
STO and 27 other apps were removed for infringing on user rights and other behaviors
DoNews reported on November 4th that according to the official WeChat account "Shanghai Communication Circle" under the Shanghai Municipal Communication Administration, the Shanghai Municipal Communication Administration has taken down 27 apps (SDKs) that violate user rights and have not rectified as required, based on laws and regulations such as the Personal Information Protection Law, Cybersecurity Law, Telecommunications Regulations, and the Regulations on the Protection of Personal Information of Telecommunications and Internet Users. This action is in accordance with the announcement jointly issued by the Central Cyberspace Administration, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and other four departments regarding the "Announcement on the Launch of the 2025 Personal Information Protection Series Special Actions." The apps involved include "FuYou Courier," "Shanghai Postal Express," "STO," and "ZTO Smart Property."
The Shanghai Municipal Communication Administration stated that it will continue to monitor these apps (SDKs) and may take further measures such as stopping access, administrative penalties, and including them in the list of poor telecommunications business operations based on the situation.
