The People's Bank of China today (12th) conducted a 1,955 billion yuan (same below) seven-day reverse repurchase operation in the open market, with the operation rate remaining at 1.4%. Today, 655 billion yuan of reverse repos matured, resulting in a net injection of 1,300 billion yuan. The central parity rate of the yuan against the US dollar was adjusted up by 33 points to 7.0833 per US dollar.

The three major indices of A-shares opened lower and the decline once expanded, with the Shanghai Composite Index regaining 4,000 points, while the ChiNext Index fell more than 1% before recovering. The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 4,000 points, down 2 points or 0.07%, with a turnover of 840.5 billion yuan; the Shenzhen Component Index closed at 13,240 points, down 48 points or 0.4%, with a turnover of 1.1 trillion yuan; the ChiNext Index closed at 3,122 points, down 12 points or 0.4%, with a turnover of 487.8 billion yuan.

Banking stocks supported the Shanghai Composite Index, with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SH) and China Construction Bank (601939.SH) rising 0.4% and 0.5%, respectively. Agricultural Bank of China (601288.SH) rose 3.5% to a new high. In addition, CATL (300750.SZ) rose 0.2%. BYD (002594.SZ) fell nearly 1%.

Oil and gas stocks rose against the trend, with Sinopec Oilfield Service (600871.SH) and Zhenhua Oil (002207.SZ) both hitting the daily limit. Retail and consumer stocks, represented by Dongbai Group (600693.SH), have seen three consecutive days of hitting the daily limit.

Leading chip stocks showed mixed performance, with SMIC (688981.SH) rising 1.6% and Hua Hong Semiconductor (688347.SH) falling 0.8%. Technology stocks, represented by Cambricon (688256.SH), rebounded by 2.7%
