Live game company HUYA Information Technology Co., Ltd. (HUYA.US) announced on Wednesday that for the third quarter ending in September, Huya's revenue grew by 9.8% year-on-year to RMB 1.688 billion (USD 237 million), marking the company's best quarterly performance this year.
During the period, the company's game-related services, advertising, and other revenues increased by 29.6% to RMB 532 million, accounting for over 30% of total revenue for the first time, becoming the main growth driver. Revenue from live streaming business slightly increased by 2.6% to RMB 1.157 billion, mainly benefiting from the rise in average spending by paying users. In terms of user data, as of the third quarter, Huya's total monthly active users (MAU) reached 162 million.
During the period, net profit recorded RMB 9.6 million, achieving a turnaround from a loss of RMB 5.5 million in the second quarter, but down 59.3% from RMB 23.6 million in the same period last year. Adjusted net profit recorded RMB 36.3 million, a year-on-year decline of 53.5%. Gross margin remained stable at 13.4%, slightly higher than 13.2% in the same period last year
