It is rumored that BOE has agreed to pay Samsung Display for the use of OLED display technology
According to a report by Yonhap News Agency, industry observers have stated that Samsung Display has reached a settlement with BOE Technology Group (000725.SZ) regarding the issue of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display technology infringement. The report indicates that BOE has reached an agreement with Samsung Display to pay technology usage fees.
In December 2022, Samsung Display filed an infringement lawsuit against BOE, and in October 2023, it filed an additional complaint regarding trade secret violations. In early July of this year, the U.S. International Trade Commission preliminarily ruled to prohibit the import of BOE's OLED panels into the United States for a period of 14 years and 8 months based on a "limited exclusion order." The commission was originally scheduled to announce its final ruling this week but previously issued a notice to suspend the related case
