From pilot testing to mass production, the solid-state battery industrialization still faces challenges
Since the beginning of this year, several companies, including EVE and GOTION, have entered the pilot test stage of solid-state batteries, with a heated trend in the bidding and construction of pilot lines. As various battery manufacturers engage in a "military competition" for solid-state battery pilot lines, the question of how long it will take to bridge the "last mile" from pilot testing to mass production remains a key concern for the capital market. According to interviews with reporters, the quality of progress in the pilot testing phase, which serves as a crucial bridge between laboratory research and large-scale production, directly determines the industrialization process of solid-state batteries. Currently, the industry still faces multiple technical challenges and cost barriers in materials, processes, and equipment. (Shanghai Securities Journal)
