CATHAY PAC AIR (0293.HK) announced its October operational data on Monday, reporting that Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong Express carried over 3.2 million passengers last month, an increase of 21% month-on-month; cargo volume exceeded 150,000 tons, growing 12% month-on-month.
Cathay's Customer and Business President, Ronald Lam, stated that the demand for leisure travel from the mainland to Hong Kong and around the world significantly increased in early October, benefiting from multiple holidays such as the National Day Golden Week and the Mid-Autumn Festival. Additionally, several large exhibitions held in Hong Kong attracted inbound travelers from various long-haul markets. The company's passenger load factor in October was over 86%, reaching a recent high for the same month.
Cathay Pacific launched daily direct flights to Changsha this month, as well as seasonal flights to Adelaide, Australia, operating three times a week; Hong Kong Express will commence daily flights to Sabah later this month.
