Uber partners with WeRide to launch autonomous driving services in Abu Dhabi

Uber (UBER.US) will begin using WeRide-W (00800.HK) vehicles to provide autonomous driving services in certain areas of Abu Dhabi. Uber stated that passengers using UberX or Uber Comfort services at specific locations may be matched with autonomous vehicles.

In May of this year, Uber reached an agreement with WeRide to launch services in 15 cities outside of the United States and China over the next few years, including the recently launched service with safety drivers in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia
