The three major U.S. stock indices rose for four consecutive days before the Thanksgiving holiday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 314 points or 0.7%. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority injected HKD 238 million in liquidity to banks yesterday (26th). Today (27th) is the futures settlement day for Hong Kong stocks, with the Hang Seng Index opening up 17 points or 0.07% at 25,945 points; the National Index opened down 5 points at 9,156 points; and the Hang Seng Tech Index opened down 5 points at 5,613 points.

Alibaba Health (00241.HK) reported a 39% increase in net profit after mid-term adjustments, opening flat at HKD 6.1. Former Tesla Agile Team member Lu Zeyu has joined Xiaomi (01810.HK), which opened up 0.3% at HKD 40.24.

In other tech stocks, Alibaba (09988.HK) opened down 0.5%, Tencent (00700.HK) and Meituan (03690.HK) opened down 0.2%, with Meituan set to announce its quarterly results after the market closes tomorrow (28th). JD.com (09618.HK) opened down 0.1%, and Baidu (09888.HK) opened down 1.3%. NetEase (09999.HK) opened flat at HKD 215.2, while Kuaishou (01024.HK) and Bilibili (09626.HK) opened up 0.4% and 0.6%, respectively. Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and Hua Hong (01347.HK) opened up 0.4% and 0.3%.

Li Auto (02015.HK) turned from profit to loss in the third quarter, recording a non-GAAP net loss of RMB 360 million, with its stock price opening down 0.1% at HKD 71.65. In other automotive stocks, BYD (01211.HK) opened down 0.8%, Nio (09866.HK) opened down 2.2%, while Geely (00175.HK) and XPeng (09868.HK) each opened up 0.5%. Battery stock CATL (03750.HK) opened up 0.6%.

In financial stocks, HSBC Holdings (00005.HK) opened up 1.3% at HKD 109, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (00388.HK) opened down 0.1%, and AIA (01299.HK) opened up 0.5%. With expectations of interest rate cuts, gold prices hovered at high levels, with Zijin Mining (02899.HK) opening up 2.6%. In other stocks, aluminum stock Hongqiao (01378.HK) opened up 3.4%, pharmaceutical stock Hansoh (03692.HK) opened up 2.1%, while WuXi AppTec (02359.HK) opened down 3.4%.

Domestic property stock Vanke (02202.HK) opened down 5.4% at HKD 3.67. Several of Vanke's domestic bonds had previously hit the daily limit down in mainland China. Longfor (00960.HK) opened down 0.2% at HKD 10.1, with the decline later widening. Domestic media reported that Longfor Group's U.S. dollar bonds maturing in January 2028 experienced the largest drop since April 7 of this year.
