Last month, the number of new jobs in private enterprises in the U.S. turned negative, increasing expectations for a Federal Reserve rate cut. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 408 points or 0.9%. Hong Kong stocks opened higher in the morning. The Hang Seng Index opened up 43 points or 0.2%, reporting at 25,804 points; the National Index opened up 23 points or 0.3%, reporting at 9,051 points; the Hang Seng Tech Index opened up 11 points or 0.2%, reporting at 5,546 points.

The FTSE China 50 Index's quarterly review includes Hongqiao (01378.HK), CATL (03750.HK), and Heng Rui Pharmaceutical (01276.HK), while excluding CITIC Securities (06066.HK), Changan Automobile (02333.HK), and Li Auto (02015.HK). Hongqiao opened up 2.8%, CATL opened up 0.3%, and Heng Rui Pharmaceutical opened flat at 71.8 yuan; CITIC Securities opened flat at 12.15 yuan, while Changan Automobile and Li Auto opened down 0.6% and 2.3%, respectively.

Reports indicate that over 20 cities in mainland China have suspended or adjusted the vehicle trade-in subsidy due to the consumption of national subsidy funds. In the automotive sector, BYD (01211.HK) opened down 0.2%, Nio (09866.HK) and XPeng (09868.HK) opened down 1.2% and 1.7%, while Geely (00175.HK) opened up 0.6%.

In the tech sector, Alibaba (09988.HK) and Tencent (00700.HK) opened down 0.3% and 0.2%, while Xiaomi (01810.HK), NetEase (09999.HK), and Kuaishou (01024.HK) opened up 0.1% to 0.3%. Meituan (03690.HK) and JD.com (09618.HK) opened up 0.9% and 0.6%, respectively. Baidu (09888.HK) opened flat at 114.6 yuan, Bilibili (09626.HK) opened flat at 197.5 yuan, and JD Health (06618.HK) opened up 3.1%. In the chip sector, SMIC (00981.HK) and Hua Hong (01347.HK) opened up 0.1% and 0.7%, respectively.

In the financial sector, HSBC (00005.HK) opened down 0.1% at 111.1 yuan, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (00388.HK) opened down less than 0.1% at 404 yuan, and AIA (01299.HK) opened flat at 79.55 yuan. Copper prices on the London Metal Exchange hit a record high, with Jiangxi Copper (00358.HK) opening up 4.3% and Zijin Mining (02899.HK) opening up 3.1%. Among domestic property stocks, China Overseas (00688.HK) and Longfor (00960.HK) opened up 1.1% and 1.4%, respectively
